The story behind the brand

The story behind LIVBotanics started in 2013 from out the kitchen of an Amsterdam apartment. 

Estella, who lived a green lifestyle since her childhood was always passionate about health, botany and everything into nature that grows and flourishes. Her motto is “nature is beauty”, and if it is food or skincare, it couldn’t be green and clean enough for her. 

Her idea started the moment she found out that most of the “natural” skincare brands seem not to be that natural. And when looking about the conventional skincare brands, she was shocked about the used ingredients. 

So she started to make her own skincare and began with mixing several plant-oils for her face, and experimenting with botanic extracts. Sometimes she gave it away to friends as a present. Till the moment came those friends run out and asked for more, and asked her if she can also make other skincare products. That was the moment she realizes that she had to be become more professional with a decent education in skincare formulating. 

Her idea was to develop a range with the best raw and natural ingredients which interact with each other, to equal a maximum result. No compromises, and not an overload of ingredients and extracts to just make it more expensive and sell as a high-end product. Every woman should be able to profit from the benefits of natural skincare. 

Creative, forward, driven and persistent as she is, she used all those years to delve into education, training, books, courses, more books, more study and of course lots of trails and errors. Every single free hour was used for reading, formulating, mixing, blending, testing and discover natural raw plant-based ingredients, their actions and results; Estella became an organic skincare formulator and founder of LIV Botanics.

Our mission is that every woman understand and know the importance of using natural skincare instead of conventional skincare with synthetic and nasty ingredients in it. Natural skincare should be the standard norm for everyone and for every skincare brand. It’s very unfortunate that still a lot of brands use synthetic ingredients and nasties because those ingredients are cheap, stable, easy available combined with a long shelf live. 

The skin is our largest organ and therefore has the biggest intake of everything you put on, knowing that why settle for products that are harsh for you and for the environment? That is literally how the idea started to make real plant-based skincare products without synthetic ingredients and nasties. 

We strongly believe in the power of nature combined with ancient beauty rituals, and wanted our products to be truly plant-based, highly effective and vegan. 

That is how LIV Botanics evolved, with a collection of beautiful botanical skincare products.
