At LIV. we stick to nature as closest possible.
For this reason the ingredients in our formulas are organically grown, natural and wild-harvested. Plant-based, non-toxic and vegan. The way it should be for every formula.
When searching for high-quality ingredients we strive that they're ethically sourced from (preferably small) sustainable / fairtrade farms. And of course as close to home possible. We also use by-products from the food & juice industry like strawberry seed oil, blue berry seed oil and raspberry seed oil, so there is no waste.
Our packaging is made of miscanthus fibers aka elephant grass paper, grown on Dutch soil which is printed with non-toxic plant-based ink, without the use of (possible toxic) glue. This elephant grass is growing very fast and can reach a height of 3,5 meter. Elephant grass can capture more than 4 times more greenhouse gasses per hectare than a forest with trees, can be harvested annually and can grow on marginal land. No fertilizers and pesticides are required during growth, which contribute to soil improvement and deterioration of air and water quality. The soil were Elephant grass has grown, comes back to life. It restores the health of the soil and promotes biodiversity above the ground. The production takes place in The Netherlands and this whole production process has a small carbon foot print. The used water and heat will be maximal re-used and the roof of the paper factory is covered with 1440 solar panels.
The bottles and jars are made of glass which can be recycled and reused over and over. The top of our droppers can be easily broken apart, so you can recycle the glass pipettes as well.
The airless pump system combined with glass takes care that the products stay fresh and can be squeezed till the last drop. And they're Ecocert proof. Also our labels are eco-friendly and made of nothing more than a sustainable film instead of vinyl (plastic).
Our shipping material is bio-degradable and of course plastic-free. Our paper tissue wrapping and stickers are eco-friendly as well, and also printed with non-toxic plant-based ink.
All to minimise our CO2 footprint, because our mission is to have the least harmful impact on our environment.
