How natural are the products of LIV BOTANICS?

For us that’s easy to answer, each and every used ingredient is coming from plants, trees, flowers, herbs, seeds, fruit and vegetables. We also use by-products from the food & juice industry like strawberry seed oil, blue berry seed oil and raspberry seed oil, so there is no waste. We avoid synthetic chemicals and ingredients that are harmful for us or our environment. 

 

Are all LIV BOTANICS products 100% organic?

LIV BOTANICS doesn’t compromise. We use natural, organic, cold-pressed, raw, wild harvested and food grade ingredients which includes plant-oils, plant-butters, botanical extracts, herbs and clays. Those ingredients are not altered or heavily processed. You even could simply eat it, which your skin will by the way.

 

Does LIV BOTANICS products have expiry dates?

Because our products are natural, the shelf live is between 6 and 12 months.

 

How can I best store LIV BOTANICS products?

We suggest you to keep your products in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight and preferably below a temperature of 20 degrees. When you’re worried about the temperature you can always store in the fridge to make sure a higher temperature will not affect your product(s) or shorten the expiry date.

Where do you source your ingredients from?

Our high quality ingredients comes from trusted suppliers, preferably from small sustainable fair-trade farms. To minimise our carbon footprint we mostly source in The Netherlands and Europe. And for ingredients outside Europe, we make sure that they're ethically and sustainably sourced.  

 

Are your products made in The Netherlands?

Yes, our products are hand-crafted in Amsterdam. Each and every single product is formulated by us from scratch. Tested and trailed extensively (by a test group) till we believe for 100% in our formula. For the bigger batches we give our formula to a manufacturer that align with our ethics and our vision.

 

What about the packaging of LIV BOTANICS products?

Our packaging is made of miscanthus fibers aka elephant grass paper, grown on Dutch soil which is printed with plant-based ink without the use of (possible toxic) glue. This elephant grass is growing very fast and can reach a height of 3,5 meter. Elephant grass can capture more than 4 times more greenhouse gasses per hectare than a forest with trees, can be harvested annually and can grow on marginal land. No fertilizers and pesticides are required during growth, which contribute to soil improvement and deterioration of air and water quality. The soil were Elephant grass has grown, comes back to life. It restores the health of the soil and promotes biodiversity above the ground. The production takes place in The Netherlands and this whole production process has a small carbon foot print. The used water and heat will be maximal re-used and the roof of the paper factory is covered with 1440 solar panels. 

Our bottles and jars are made of glass. Unfortunately the top of our droppers are not yet recycable but we’re constantly looking for better options becoming available and implement them ones viable.

 

 

Are all LIV BOTANICS products vegan?

All of our products are 100% vegan. It’s simply a no-brainer to don’t use animal ingredients. We also don’t use by-products like lanolin, honey or beeswax.

 

Which product is useful to cleanse my skin?

The Cleanser is suitable for all skin types and takes care for a deep cleanse without drying the skin or leaving a greasy film. It just makes your skin clean, soft and healthy.

 

What do you recommend for lines, wrinkles and signs of aging?

All of our products are formulated with ingredients and active botanicals that helps to combat the signs of aging. For the area around the eyes we especially recommend The Luminous eye serum.

 

What do you recommend for a dry and sensitive skin?

We recommend The Cleanser, The Beauty and The Midnight.

 

What do you recommend for an oily skin or an acne prone skin?

We recommend The Cleanser, The Bakuchiol and The Youth.

 

I have an oily skin / acne prone skin, can I use oil-based products?

Plant oils can be very helpful for balancing an oily complexion, especially the carefully selected oils and extracts in The Bakuchiol help to prevent outbreaks and balance your skin. The Cleanser will cleanse your face without stripping of the natural oils on your face. Your skin will be clean, feeling soft without leaving a greasy layer.
